India has set a new world record by constructing the highest motorable road at Mig La Pass in Ladakh, reaching an altitude of 19,400 feet above sea level. Developed by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) under Project Himank, the Likaru–Mig La–Fukche road connects the Hanle region to the border village of Fukche near the Line of Actual Control (LAC), surpassing the previous record at Umling La (19,024 feet. This achievement highlights India’s engineering prowess and its capability to overcome some of the most difficult terrains in the world.
