Category : International Published on: November 25 2025
India and Canada have agreed to revive negotiations on the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), aiming to double bilateral trade to USD 50 billion by 2030. The decision follows a two-year diplomatic pause and comes after a G20 meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney in Johannesburg. In 2024, two-way trade reached approximately C$31 billion. Both countries reaffirmed civil nuclear cooperation, including uranium supply discussions, and highlighted that the renewed dialogue will create substantial opportunities for businesses and strengthen long-term economic engagement.
