The Ministry of Culture, led by Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, signed MoUs with 17 institutions to boost manuscript conservation and digitisation under the Gyan Bharatam Mission. The ceremony, held at the National Gallery of Modern Art in New Delhi, marked a major step toward preserving India’s ancient knowledge heritage. Twelve institutions joined as cluster members and five as independent centres. Shekhawat emphasized the mission’s goal of bridging India’s wisdom with its future aspirations, embodying the vision of “Vikas bhi, Virasat bhi” — progress with heritage.
