G20 Summit 2025

The 2025 G20 Summit in Johannesburg marked a historic first for Africa under the theme “Solidarity, Equality, Sustainability.” Leaders adopted a declaration reaffirming climate action, debt sustainability, and support for vulnerable nations, while emphasizing UN reforms and stronger multilateralism. India announced major initiatives, including a Global Traditional Knowledge Repository, G20–Africa Skills Multiplier, Global Healthcare Response Team, and Open Satellite Data Partnership. Despite progress, the summit faced challenges such as the US boycott, disagreements on fossil fuel phase-out, and geopolitical rifts. Still, the meet strengthened Africa’s priorities and advanced calls for fair global financial reforms.
