The Indian Navy has received ‘Taragiri’, the fourth Nilgiri-class (Project 17A) advanced stealth frigate, delivered by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilding Ltd (MDL) on 28 November 2025. Designed by the Warship Design Bureau, Taragiri represents a major boost to Aatmanirbharta with 75% indigenous content. Equipped with BrahMos missiles, MF-STAR radar, MRSAM, and advanced CODOG propulsion, the frigate marks a generational leap in stealth and combat capability. It is the third MDL-built P17A ship and reflects accelerated shipbuilding efficiency.
