Daily Current Affairs / Ethiopian Volcano Erupts After 12,000 Years
Category : International Published on: November 26 2025
The Hayli Gubbi volcano in Ethiopia erupted for the first time in nearly 12,000 years, sending massive ash plumes 14 km into the sky. High-speed winds carried the ash across Yemen, Oman and the Arabian Sea, eventually reaching Gujarat, Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana and Punjab, worsening air quality. The ash disrupted flight operations, forcing Air India, IndiGo and other airlines to cancel or divert several flights.
