· Captain Amarinder Singh on Saturday resigned as the Chief Minister of Punjab after months of tussle between Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) chief Navjot Singh Sidhu.
· Captain Amarinder Singh (79) and his ministers have been asked to continue in office for regular work till the appointment of his successor.
· Captain Amarinder Singh has become the only Chief Minister of Punjab in the last 24 years to step down before the completion of his full five-year term.
