Around 34% of children under five in India are stunted and 15% are underweight, according to Poshan Tracker data shared in the Rajya Sabha. Over 6.44 crore children enrolled in Anganwadis were assessed till October, with 33.54% found stunted, 14.41% underweight, and 5.03% wasted. The government highlighted improvements compared to NFHS-5 levels and cited a World Bank survey showing Poshan Abhiyaan’s strong impact on nutrition behaviour. Under Mission Poshan 2.0, digital tools like the Poshan Tracker are aiding real-time monitoring of malnutrition indicators.
