Harjinder Singh to be India's Head of Mission at Beijing Winter Olympics 2022

  • Harjinder Singh, the general secretary of the Ice Hockey Association of India, has been named India's Chef De Mission (Head of the mission of India) for the forthcoming Beijing Winter Olympics in 2022.
  • Singh also led India's delegation to the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeonchang, South Korea.
  • The Beijing Games, which began in 1924 and are now in their 24th iteration, will take place from February 4 to 20.
  • Because of alleged human rights violations in China, the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Lithuania, and Canada have decided to boycott the Beijing Winter Olympics.
  • Arif Khan of Kashmir is the sole Indian athlete who has qualified for the Games thus far.
