Selection Procedure : The SBI Clerk Selection Process includes three stages:
I.   Online Preliminary Examination (Qualifying nature)
II.  Online Mains Examination (Marks will be included)
III. Test of opted language(if any) (Qualifying nature)

Exam Introduction

State Bank of India Department conducts the recruitment exam for Clerks in various departments of the SBI Bank Network. 

SBI Clerk is one of the most sought-after jobs in the banking sector in India.

State Bank of India Department has released the SBI Clerk Recruitment Notification 2021 for  4997 Vacancies for Posts. 

Eligibility Criteria

Essential Educational Qualifications (as on 16-08-2021): 

The candidate must be a Graduate in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by Central Government. Candidates who have an integrated dual degree (IDD) certificate should ensure that the date of passing the IDD is on or before 16.08.2021.

Candidates who are in the final year/ semester of their graduation may also apply. Their application shall be provisional,  subject to the condition that, if provisionally selected, they will be required to produce the proof of having passed the graduation examination on or before 16.08.2021 for the recruitment of year 2021. 


Age limit (As on 01-04-2021):

The age limit of the candidates is  from 

20 to 28 years.

* A candidate must have been born not earlier than 02.04.1993 and not later than 01.04.2001 (both days are inclusive).*


Permissible relaxation in upper age limit and category-codes for claiming age relaxation are as follows:

The online examination will be held in two phases:

- Preliminary Exam

- Mains Exam

And a Test of specified opted local language.

Important Note:

I. Questions papers will be of Objective type Multiple Choice Questions. 

II. Each question will carry 1 mark.

III. Questions will be set in both Hindi and English.

IV. There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.

V. No minimum qualifying marks have been prescribed for individual test scores OR for the aggregate score.

Important Note:

Test of specified opted local language:

All candidates must be proficient in a local language as listed in the designated list of local languages according to different circles. 

Candidates who have studied the opted local language and can produce a 10th or 12th standard mark sheet/ certificate of having studied the language shall be exempt from taking any Language test, given that they qualify for the mains test. 

In the case of others (qualified for selection), specified opted local language tests will be conducted after provisional selection but before joining. Candidates are expected to be profound in the local language.  Any candidates not found proficient in specified opted local language would be disqualified.

Bank Transaction charges for Online Payment of application fees/ intimation charges will have to be borne by the candidate.

How to Apply

The applications must be submitted through online mode only. Detailed instructions on filling online application form are given below.

1. Visit the official website of SBI i.e.,

2. Click on  “New Registration”.

3. Fill out the basic details asked and submit it. After submitting the basic details Registration No. & Password will be generated. Record this for safekeeping and use later. 

4. Then click on SBI Clerk apply online link and log in using your registration number and password. 

5. Upload your Photo & Signature

6. Make the payment of the Application Fee through online mode.

7. Then click on the submit button and fill in the captcha code as visible on the screen. 

8. Save the application and take a printout with an application number.
