Delhi Metro Rail Corporation unveils indigenous driver training prototype

  • The first "prototype" of an indigenous "Rolling Stock Driver Training System" (RSDTS) was inaugurated by Delhi Metro, marking a significant step toward indigenization of network-operating technologies.
  • The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), in collaboration with Bharat Electronics Limited, also demonstrated the operation of a 'Super Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System,' which is being developed as a monitoring system for equipment and assets to ensure maintenance can be rationalised.
  • The DMRC and the BEL signed a Memorandum of Understanding in September of last year with the goal of developing the RSDTS, which will be useful for training metro and railway train drivers.
  • This will be the first universal train driving simulator produced in the country, with the ability to be customised for any metro or railway system.
