World Diabetes Day, observed on 14 November, emphasizes this year’s WHO theme, “Diabetes across life stages,” highlighting that diabetes affects people from childhood to old age. WHO stresses the need for integrated care, supportive environments and policies that enable health, dignity and self-management. The campaign also reinforces global diabetes targets for 2030, including diagnosing 80% of cases, ensuring good glycaemic and blood pressure control, expanding statin use for older adults, and guaranteeing universal access to affordable insulin for type 1 diabetes.
