  • Every year on October 12, World Arthritis Day (WAD) is observed to raise awareness about the existence and impact of rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases.
  • In 1996, Arthritis and Rheumatism International (ARI) designated October 12 as World Arthritis Day to raise awareness about this debilitating condition.
  • Arthritis is not a single disease, but rather a catch-all term for over a hundred joint-related conditions. It can cause swelling in or around a joint, causing pain, stiffness, and, in some cases, difficulty moving.
  • The theme for World Arthritis Day 2021 is "Don't Delay, Connect Today: Time2Work."
