Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh Chairs First General Meeting of Earth System Science Council

Union Earth Sciences Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh chaired the first general meeting of the Earth System Science Council (ESSC), formed by merging five autonomous Earth science institutions and committees. This council, aligned with the ‘Whole of Government’ approach, aims to promote integrated governance and stronger public outreach. The meeting also discussed streamlining parliamentary submissions and moving towards a consolidated annual report, enhancing coordination in scientific research, environmental monitoring, and national Earth system science initiatives.
