NABARD Launches National Climate Stack Innovation Challenge

NABARD, in collaboration with the Gates Foundation and Dalberg Advisors, launched the National Climate Stack Innovation Challenge.
The initiative aims to integrate diverse climate datasets into a unified digital framework for rural and agricultural planning.
India faces risks from heatwaves, floods, droughts and cyclones, requiring better climate intelligence systems.
The challenge focuses on developing near-term (10–15 year) climate hazard forecasting models as the foundational layer.
An open call for proposals was issued on March 6, 2026; final jury selection is scheduled for May–June 2026.
Proposals will be evaluated on scientific rigour, scalability, explainability, interoperability, and practical relevance.
