UNESCO observed World Philosophy Day 2025 on 20 November at its Paris headquarters, where Belgian-Dutch philosopher and economist Professor Ingrid Robeyns delivered the keynote address. Mentored by Nobel laureate Amartya Sen and known for her work on inequality, democracy, and sustainability, Prof. Robeyns spoke on “The Values of Societies of the Future.” Her address focused on rethinking moral and institutional foundations amid rising inequality, democratic decline, and climate challenges. The event aimed to inspire policymakers, scholars, and citizens to reflect on the values needed to build just, sustainable, and human-centered future societies.
