U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the United States and India have reached a trade deal after a phone call with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, under which U.S. tariffs on Indian goods will be reduced to 18% from earlier levels. Donald Trump also claimed India will cut its own trade barriers and significantly increase purchases of U.S. products, including energy and agriculture.
