Under the centrally sponsored ULLAS – Nav Bharat Saaksharta Karyakram, Tripura has been officially declared a fully literate state. With its literacy rate rising dramatically to 95.6% from just 20.24% in 1961, Tripura becomes the third Indian state after Mizoram and Goa to accomplish this major educational milestone.
