In a significant step to enhance the business-to-consumer (B2C) to business-to-business (B2B) approach for tribal communities, the Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India Limited (TRIFED) has formed a strategic partnership with Meesho, the Indian Federation of Culinary Associations (IFCA), and the Mahatma Gandhi Institute for Rural Industrialization (MGIRI) to facilitate tribal businesses.
The memorandum of understanding was signed on February 18 during the major event 'Aadi Mahotsav' taking place from February 16 to 24, 2025, at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in the capital, Delhi.
This is a crucial step in implementing the B2B approach and ensuring the promotion of the tribal product market.
The main objective of the memorandum of understanding with Meesho is to include tribal products on their social commerce platform, as well as to conduct training and capacity-building initiatives for tribal suppliers.
