Sheetal Devi, an 18-year-old para-archer from Jammu and Kashmir, has made history by becoming the first Indian para-athlete selected for the able-bodied national archery team. She secured her place at the Asia Cup 2025 in Jeddah by finishing third in national trials against over 60 able-bodied archers with a score of 703. Born with phocomelia, Sheetal shoots using her legs and shoulders, and is already a decorated athlete with medals from the 2024 Paralympics, 2025 World Para Archery Championships, and 2023 Asian Para Games. Her achievement is a landmark for inclusivity and merit-based sports in India.
