The Government of India has appointed Sandip Pradhan, Director General of Income Tax (Investigation), Pune, as a Whole-Time Member of SEBI for a three-year term. The appointment, notified strengthens SEBI’s leadership alongside existing members Amarjeet Singh and Kamlesh Chandra Varshney. An experienced IRS officer, Pradhan has handled major tax investigations and compliance enforcement. His expertise is expected to enhance SEBI’s oversight in market regulation, surveillance, tackling insider trading, and ensuring stronger corporate governance in India’s capital markets.
