  • The Union Cabinet has recently increased the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana.
  • This scheme will be applicable for the next 5 years from January 1, 2024.
  • Under this scheme, 5 kg of free food items are provided to the people every month.
  • This will benefit 81.35 crore poor people.
  • Now this scheme will continue till the year 2028.
  • Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana was started in the year 2020.
