  • The government has once again appointed Priyank Kanungo as the chairman of the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR).
  • According to the gazette notification issued by the government, Kanungo's new term will start from October 17 and he will discharge this responsibility for a period of three years or till further orders.
  • Kanungo was appointed chairman of the commission in 2018.
  • Kanungo originally hails from Vidisha, Madhya Pradesh and has been working in the field of education and child rights for a long time.
