  • The standard time for awarding these awards is the last 25 years of service.
  • The 45th Squadron was raised in 1959 with Vampire Aircraft and participated in Goa's freedom struggle.
  • The 221st Squadron was established in 1963 at Barrackpore with vampire aircraft and was also involved in action in the 1965 war.
