Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Kaynes Semicon semiconductor plant at Sanand, Gujarat on March 31, 2026.
The facility marks a significant step in India’s semiconductor ecosystem and self-reliance journey.
Kaynes has entered the global supply chain by supplying Intelligent Power Modules to a California-based company.
PM Modi highlighted that the plant embodies “Make in India, Make for the World”.
He noted rapid progress since the launch of India Semiconductor Mission in 2021.
Work is underway on 10 semiconductor projects worth over ₹1,60,000 crore across six states.
India Semiconductor Mission 2.0 focuses on equipment, materials, and building a full-stack ecosystem.
The move will boost electric vehicles, AI, defence, and clean energy sectors.
