  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for an upcoming international cricket stadium in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.
  • The spiritual city is set to become a cricketing powerhouse with a state-of-the-art stadium, equipped with cutting-edge facilities.
  • An approximate sum of ₹350 crore will be spent on the construction of the stadium which will be built on a wide campus of about 31 acres and will have seven pitches. The venue is expected to accommodate 30,000 spectators at a time.
  • The infrastructure of the facility will depict the city’s devotion to Lord Shiva. The entire stadium will have a crescent-shaped roof – that crowns the Indian God, and the floodlights designed like a trident.
  • The entrance and the lounge will resemble Lord Shiva’s damru while the exterior of the arena will feature huge motifs of wood apple leaves in metallic frames.
