Plant Genome Saviour Awards Presented by Union Agriculture Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan

Union Agriculture Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan presented the ‘Plant Genome Saviour Awards’ in New Delhi, marking the Silver Jubilee of the Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers’ Rights (PPV&FRA) Act, 2001 and the 21st Foundation Day of the Authority. He highlighted the Act’s key role in conserving traditional seed varieties and biodiversity. Shri Chouhan announced plans to amend the Act for simplification and greater farmer awareness. The event honoured several farmers and institutions for their contributions to seed conservation and sustainable agriculture.
