  • Olympian swimmer Maana Patel set a new national record in the women’s 100m backstroke event, while Lineysha AK achieved the same feat in the women’s 200m breaststroke.
  • Notably, swimmer Nina Venkatesh also set a new National record in Women’s 50m butterfly event with a timing of 28.01.
  • The National Swimming Championships commenced on Sunday and will continue until July 5. 
  • In its 76th edition, the championships feature competitive events for men and women in freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, and individual medley.
  •  The program also includes freestyle, medley, and mixed team relays.
