Olympian swimmer Maana Patel set a new national record in the women’s 100m backstroke event, while Lineysha AK achieved the same feat in the women’s 200m breaststroke.
Notably, swimmer Nina Venkatesh also set a new National record in Women’s 50m butterfly event with a timing of 28.01.
The National Swimming Championships commenced on Sunday and will continue until July 5.
In its 76th edition, the championships feature competitive events for men and women in freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, and individual medley.
The program also includes freestyle, medley, and mixed team relays.
