The National Stock Exchange has received the Securities and Exchange Board of India’s (SEBI) approval to introduce monthly electricity futures contracts. The initiative is aimed at helping stakeholders hedge against price fluctuations in electricity, ensuring more accurate market pricing and stimulating investment across the power generation and distribution sectors.
