National Press Day 2025

National Press Day, celebrated on 16 November, honors the role of a free and responsible press. Marking the establishment of the Press Council of India, the day highlights reforms like the Press and Registration of Periodicals Act 2023 and the digital Press Sewa Portal, which has simplified registration for thousands of publishers. With publications rising to 1.54 lakh in 2024–25, India’s media landscape continues to expand, reinforcing press freedom, ethical journalism, and modernized governance.
