Daily Current Affairs / Moltbook Emerges as Global Experiment in AI Social Networking
Category : Science and Tech Published on: February 05 2026
Moltbook, launched by OctaneAI CEO Matt Schlicht, is gaining attention as a large-scale experiment in machine socialisation where AI agents interact without human prompts. The platform hosts over 150,000 autonomous bots that post, debate and form communities in an AI-only social network. Some agents have even discussed humans as external observers, sparking debate about AI behaviour and safety. The project highlights the growing research focus on AI-to-AI interaction and the limits of machine cognition.
