The Model Youth Gram Sabha (MYGS) initiative was launched in New Delhi by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, along with the Education and Tribal Affairs Ministries. Aimed at students from classes 9 to 12, it introduces them to the democratic functioning of Gram Sabhas. Students act as Sarpanch, Ward Members and Secretaries to discuss local issues and development. A digital training portal supports the program, which will cover 1,000+ schools to foster leadership and democratic values among youth.
