Olympic medallist Manu Bhaker secured silver in the women’s 25m pistol event at the Asian Shooting Championship after a tense shoot-off. She was tied with Vietnam’s Nguyen Thuy Trang at 35 points in regulation, forcing a sudden-death finish. Trang held her nerve to claim gold, while Manu narrowly missed the top podium spot.
The final saw constant momentum shifts, highlighting the high standard of Asian women’s pistol shooting. Fellow Indian shooters Esha Singh and Rhythm Sangwan also featured strongly. Esha briefly led but settled for bronze after a late setback. The match reflected India’s depth in shooting talent.
