N Biren Singh resigned as Manipur's Chief Minister amid BJP internal discord and the threat of a no-confidence motion, following discussions with Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
His resignation comes nearly 21 months after ethnic violence in Manipur, which resulted in over 250 deaths and the displacement of thousands.
N. Biren Singh took office as the Chief Minister of Manipur in 2017.
