  • Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Friday approved the first Good Governance Regulations of the country which aims to make the State administration more accountable, accessible, dynamic, and transparent.
  • These regulations will also include the formation of a separate cell to take action on the effects of climate change.
  • Maharashtra becomes the first state in the country to have good governance rules, the focus of which would be to ensure citizens get services expeditiously and smoothly.
  • The rules have 161 indicators through which good governance will be monitored up to the district level. 
  • A time frame has been provided for the entire online services.
