  • The central government appointed veteran banker KV Kamat as the chairperson of the newly formed Rs 20,000 crore development finance institution NABFID (National Financial Infrastructure and Development Bank).
  • The objective of the Center is to provide investment to the infrastructure sector facing fund crunch through this initiative. 
  • Parliament had approved the NABFID Bill, 2021 in March this year. 
  • This bank will provide financial help to the infrastructure sector in India for a long time.
