  • Kerala will launch the 'nPROUD' (New Programme for Removal of Unused Drugs) initiative on February 22, 2025, which will ensure the scientific disposal of expired and unused medicines at the domestic level. 
  • This initiative will help prevent water and soil pollution caused by the unscientific disposal of medicines, as well as reduce health issues such as antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
