Karnataka officially became ‘Naxal-free’ after the last remaining Naxalite, Lakshmi, surrendered on February 3, 2025, in Udupi.
Surrender and Rehabilitation Policy – Lakshmi, classified under the ‘A’ category, is eligible for a Rs 7 lakh surrender package, along with education, rehabilitation, and employment support, as part of the state's reintegration efforts.
