Padma Shri awardee and social worker Ibrahim Sutar passed away in Karnataka due to a cardiac arrest. He was 82.
Ibrahim Nabisaheb Sutar was a part of the group that floated ‘Bhaivaikyada Janapada Sangeetha Mela’ in 1970.
He was fondly called as 'Kabir of Karnataka'. He was honored with various state and national awards including Padma Shri in 2018.
The government of Karnataka has honoured him with the Rajyotsava Award, the 2nd highest civilian honour of Karnataka, in 1995.
