  • Padma Shri awardee and social worker Ibrahim Sutar passed away in Karnataka due to a cardiac arrest. He was 82.
  • Ibrahim Nabisaheb Sutar was a part of the group that floated ‘Bhaivaikyada Janapada Sangeetha Mela’ in 1970.
  • He was fondly called as 'Kabir of Karnataka'. He was honored with various state and national awards including Padma Shri in 2018.
  • The government of Karnataka has honoured him with the Rajyotsava Award, the 2nd highest civilian honour of Karnataka, in 1995.
