Justice Vikram Nath has been appointed the new Executive Chairman of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), reinforcing India’s mission to ensure affordable and accessible justice. Formed under the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987, NALSA provides free legal aid, conducts Lok Adalats, and promotes legal awareness for weaker sections. With the Chief Justice of India serving as Patron-in-Chief, NALSA operates nationwide through state and district bodies. Under Justice Nath’s leadership, the organisation is expected to further expand legal outreach and strengthen dispute-resolution mechanisms.
