Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas 2025

India celebrates Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas on 15 November to honour the birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, the legendary tribal freedom fighter. Born in 1875 in Ulihatu, Jharkhand, Birsa Munda led the historic Ulgulan movement against British exploitation and worked for the rights, culture, and self-governance of tribal communities. Known as “Dharti Aaba,” he remains a symbol of resistance and pride. The day is marked with awareness programs, cultural events, and nationwide tributes highlighting his legacy.
