The Indian Navy commissioned INS Mahe, the first vessel of the Mahe-class anti-submarine warfare shallow water craft (ASW SWC) series, marking a significant milestone in strengthening India’s maritime defence. Designed for coastal and shallow-water operations, INS Mahe is equipped with advanced sensors and weaponry to detect and neutralize submarine threats. The induction of this vessel enhances the Navy’s undersea warfare capabilities, reinforces coastal security, and contributes to safeguarding India’s strategic interests in the Indian Ocean Region. This step also reflects India’s growing self-reliance in indigenous defence shipbuilding.
