  • Indian teacher Rouble Nagi secured the Global Teacher Prize 2026, earning the $1 million award during the World Government Summit in Dubai.
  • The honour, conferred in the tenth edition by GEMS Education, was presented by Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
  • She was recognised for converting neglected walls into interactive learning murals that teach literacy, numeracy, public health, and environmental awareness.
  • Over the last 20 years, her art-based education initiatives have helped bring more than one million children into formal schooling. Nagi emerged as the winner among 5,000+ nominations from 139 countries.
  • Through the Rouble Nagi Art Foundation, she has established 800+ learning centres across 100+ underprivileged communities and villages in India.
