India and Tanzania held the fourth Joint Defence Cooperation Committee meeting in Zanzibar on 2–3 February 2026, reviewing ongoing defence ties and expanding collaboration in training, maritime security and defence industry. Both sides explored new cooperation in counter-terrorism, peacekeeping, cyber, AI and electronic warfare, and agreed to begin Air Force cooperation. Military medicine and niche capacity-building were identified as new focus areas. The talks reaffirmed the countries’ warm strategic partnership guided by a five-year defence roadmap.
