India Sends First Fortified Rice Kernel Export from Chhattisgarh to Costa Rica

The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) has facilitated the first-ever export of 12 metric tons of Fortified Rice Kernel (FRK) from Chhattisgarh to Costa Rica, marking a major milestone in India’s nutrition mission. FRK is made by blending rice flour with iron, folic acid, and vitamin B12, enhancing its nutritional value. The initiative aligns with the “Kuposhan Mukt Bharat” and Poshan Abhiyan. This export strengthens Chhattisgarh’s global standing, providing farmers and exporters better opportunities and supporting Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
