An Indian Air Force Tejas Light Combat Aircraft crashed during an aerobatic display at the Dubai Air Show, killing the pilot and drawing global attention as only the second accident in the jet’s 24-year history. The aircraft went down around 2:15 pm local time while performing a low-altitude negative G manoeuvre, from which it reportedly failed to recover. Eyewitness videos showed the jet plunging before exploding on impact. Emergency crews responded immediately, and the IAF has ordered a court of inquiry. The last Tejas crash occurred in 2024 near Jaisalmer during a training mission, where the pilot had safely ejected.
