  • The Haryana government has launched the Haryana Witness Protection Scheme 2025, which is designed to provide protection to witnesses and their families in criminal cases.
  • Strict provisions for protection – under the scheme, witnesses are categorized based on the level of threat, and facilities such as surveillance, identity concealment, and personal security are provided for their safety.
  • Three categories (A, B, C) have been created for the protection of witnesses, in which security measures will be determined based on the level of threat.
  • For the safety of witnesses and their families, arrangements will be made for CCTV, alarms, fencing, telephone monitoring, and, if necessary, the provision of bodyguards and PCR van patrols.
