The Gujarat government has declared the inland mangrove Gunri site located in Gunri village of Kutch district as the state's first biodiversity heritage site.
The mangrove forest of Gunri is a special type of ecosystem.
The mangroves located in Gunri are 45 km away from the sea and there is no tidal flow here, making it a unique example of this ecosystem.
