Gujarat has emerged as India’s top state in rooftop solar energy, achieving an installed capacity of 1,879 MW and over 5 lakh residential systems under the PM Surya Ghar scheme. The state has completed 50% of its target to install 1 million systems by March 2027. Strong financial incentives worth ₹3,778 crore, user-friendly policies, and simplified regulations have boosted adoption, making Gujarat a national leader in affordable, clean, and sustainable residential solar energy.
