Google has entered into its biggest carbon reduction agreement with Brazilian startup Mombak to fund the restoration of the Amazon rainforest. The deal aims to offset nearly 200,000 metric tons of carbon emissions four times the amount covered in its 2024 pilot project. Mombak is now Google’s exclusive forestry carbon credit provider. This initiative highlights the tech giant’s shift toward nature-based solutions for emission reduction while supporting biodiversity, water security, and local employment in Brazil.
